Como La Flor
The theme of this year’s conference is "Como la Flor." Just like some flowers symbolize new beginnings, we regularly face many cycles and transformations throughout our journey. During these transitions, we often find ourselves starting over and taking one step closer to the woman we are becoming. It's vital to remember where we were first planted in order to allow ourselves to blossom. Our culture, ancestors, sisterhood and the power that lives within us are all factors that have led us to the garden we have created today.
What to Expect

We see the work and progress our community leaders and entrepreneurs have made this year so it's only right to recognize their efforts with the Poderosa of The Year Award! The community will have the opportunity to nominate & award one individual who promotes community, culture, and leadership. This will be executed through a nomination form provided by The Social Chica.
Nominations will open July 31st and close September 25th.

The Social Chica Small Business Grant was created to uplift, empower, and support one woman entrepreneur participating in our vendor program. Business owners participating in our program have the opportunity to go through a series of workshops/trainings, receive business resources and the chance the win a small business grant that is presented during the conference.

The Poderosa Exhibit will highlight and feature leading Latinas who have shown exemplary leadership & advocacy in our community. The individuals featured will be those who are joining as conference speakers.

The Social Chica was created with the sole purpose of amplifying Latina voices, creating opportunities, providing community, and now funding Latina dreams!
We are thrilled to partner and announce the inaugural La Poderosa Grant powered by Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation. For the first time ever, we are opening our $1,200 Small Business Grant to members of our community who attend La Poderosa Conference.
